The gate to our property on Brooks’ Creek finally gave up the ghost. My Sis-in-law Peggy donated a replacement gate. Now our little four-wheeler trailer just wasn’t big enough to haul the gate the mile and a quarter out a dirt road to our property. So…Bro-in-law Jimmy hauled it on his trailer and Peggy and Decretia (Sis-in-law #2) came along for the ride. Teresa was my co-pilot and photographer.

While Jimmy did a little road maintenance…

…I bored a hole for the guy-line to reinforce the fence post. Had to do it old school with the original cordless drill: a hundred-years-old Spoford brace and Jennings bit. The property line is a few miles off the power grid.

While Jimmy and I took a little break, Teresa and her sisters clowned for the camera:

Once the gate was up (forgot to get a picture…oops) we unhooked the trailer and did a little pleasure riding.

Then I helped Jimmy hook his trailer back up and we headed home.

With that I’ll leave you with some eye-candy of the beautiful fall colors here in southern West Virginia:
