Cobbled together a little box to store our Universal #1 and #3 food grinders in.

The more I use these little antique gems the more I like them. Easy to set up, easy to use, easy to clean…but they have a lot of small pieces that would be easy to lose. So, this week I built a box to keep everything together between uses.

20131108-091713.jpgThe sides are from scraps of pine, rabbeted, glued and nailed together. The top and bottom are 1/4 inch luan glued and nailed in place. I slopped a coat of clear polyurethane on as a finish and added hinges and a hasp from my junk box. I didn’t even clean up the tool marks, but I think it will be a good serviceable box and the best thing is it didn’t cost me anything but sweat equity!
